Christmas Store

Each December the Community Ministry is transformed into Santa’s Workshop, filled with toys and other gifts for neighbourhood children, and, gifts that children can give to their caregivers.  Thanks to the generous support of many individuals and our Partners in Mission Congregations, who make this possible.

In many Christmas Hamper programs, parents do not get a choice about the gift that their children receive.  Here, we set up a store, displaying toys, clothing and other items so that people can pick the gift that they see as best suited to their children.  Another space is set up for children to browse and pick a gift for their caregivers.  Santa’s helpers wrap and tag the gifts.

Donations of unwrapped new toys, clothing and other items for children are welcome.  We can not accept any used stuffed toys and we would strongly urge people NOT to donate violent toys, such as guns.

Gifts of small items that a child might proudly give to an adult are also needed (for example, toiletries, jewelry, books, photo frames).  It is preferred that these items be new, or very gently used.

Donations of money to help offset the costs of operating the program are also welcomed.
