Food Supplement (Food Bank) Supervisor

Provide oversight for the distribution of food from Winnipeg Harvest.  The program is offered every Monday.  There is an opening for every other week (10:30 to 3:30) and for a casual floater.  This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.

Admin Assistant

Provide support for office and administrative functions Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (at least 4 hours per day and afternoon is most important).  Preference is for someone who can come more than one day a week. Requires competency with Word and Excel.

Hospitality: New Seniors Program

Starting in September, we will be offering a new program for Seniors: “SAGE”.  (Wednesdays 10 to noon). We are seeking volunteers to assist with set up, hosting and clean up.  Volunteers must self-identify as a senior.

Companion: Women’s Drop-in

The drop-in will be open to women only every 2nd and 4th Thursday from 1:00 to 3:30.  We are seeking someone who would be a Companion, joining our guests at the table for conversation, games or crafts.  Assistance with child care could be another task.

Hospitality: Kitchen Server

Make and serve coffee and sandwiches to drop in guests.  Two shifts available: 11:00 to 2:00 and 2:00 to 4:30, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Hospitality: Drop in Clean up

This important role ensures that the facilities are cleaned and ready for the next day.  The shift is from 3:00 to 4:30.   Openings are available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  We are specifically seeking a woman to fill the role on the Second and Fourth Thursday of the month.

Hospitality: Drop in set up

Set up the tables and chairs and assist to get the coffee and sandwiches ready.   Openings are available Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, minimum hour shift, before 1:00.  We are specifically seeking a woman to fill the role on the Second and Fourth Thursday of the month.

Facility Oversight

Our drop in gets very well used by many different people.  We are seeking someone who would assess the cleaning needs and do the cleaning themselves or find ways for it to be done.  This position would require coming to the ministry at least once a

Fundraising Team: Garden Tour

Assist with a project to solicit sponsorship support for our annual Garden Tour.  Work includes planning, preparing materials and contacting potential supporters.  This position is flexible and can be done from home.  Computer access is required and comfort using Excel is necessary.

Christmas Store Planning Team

The Low Cost Christmas Store operates for 3 days in December.  Families get to shop for gifts for one another from the items which are donated.  We are recruiting now for people to be on the planning team which organizes and coordinates the store.  This Committee will meet over the fall, with more frequent meetings in November and December.
